My first creation!

I created this poster set a while ago, but I finally decided I wanted to play around with it and make it prettier! In my previous position, our school was extremely focused on using evidence and having students explain why. I created the base of these posters before I left my position. In my new interventionist position, I am continuing to focus on my students using evidence and making sure they explain why their answer is correct.

You can download these posters in my TpT store! Please let me know if you have any feedback.

Almost forgot about this.

Wow, I almost forgot I had this blog! Things have really changed for me since I last updated this. I finished up my time as a special education paraprofessional, and began my time as a 2nd grade teacher. After about a year and a half, I came to the conclusion that where I was at was not the right place for me. I decided to leave mid-year (crazy, right?). I was lucky enough to come upon my current position. I am currently an academic interventionist. I'm in love with my new school, students and position! While I do miss my kids and staff from my previous school. I'm extremely happy in my new position, and I know this is a better fit for me! With some extra time on my hands (especially this summer), I want to start creating different teacher resources. Keep an eye out!

Christmas request

My first year of teaching is FLYING by! I can't believe it's almost Christmas break. As my year is progressing, I'm trying to find the best ways to reach my students and challenge them to be successful. Sometimes I do not have the resources I need. I made the decision to join Donors Choose to try and get the tools and resources for my students that they need and deserve! Here is the link to my Donors Choose site: Ms. LeTourneau's Donors Choose. Any and all donations are appreciated! My students and I appreciate it! :)

end of a great year.

And here is my final bulletin board for the school year. I figured it was kind of pointless to do one for June since we have like a week and a half left of school!

On a FREAKING AMAZING NOTE, I have been offered a TEACHING JOB for the upcoming fall! It's still a shock and it doesn't feel real yet, but it will be soon! I'm sure I'll have more blog updates as my new school year gets closer and starts...I can't wait to see my classroom and share pics!

Well, I guess I forgot about adding my bulletin boards to the blog here. So here are the ones I've done!
Here is what we did for February. I love the streaks of snow behind Snoopy so it actually looks like he's moving. We also put glitter on the word "sleds."

For March we wanted to go with a reading theme since March is reading month! I REALLY like how I made the sun, because it almost looks 3 dimensional. Our original board didn't have Woodstock on it, but we decided it would be a nice touch to add him. I even created a book for him to look at and a stack of books next to him so he could be like Snoopy.

And now we have April. I used our "snow" to create clouds. It took me FOREVER to cut out all those raindrops. At the last minute I decided to put puddles for Snoopy and Woodstock to walk through.

According to the resource teacher, I could run my own "bulletin board making business" and make lots of money...haha :) I'm already starting my plans for May's bulletin board!

january bulletin board.

Here is the January bulletin board! Once we used the glitter glue on last month's bulletin board, I've become obsessed with finding ways to use on other boards! There is glitter on Snoopy's hat and Charlie Brown's scarf. I also used glitter on the letters of the saying. I did the letters differently this month so I could fit the entire saying on the board. I think it turned out GREAT! Stay tuned for February's board! :)

december bulletin board.

It's been up for a few weeks, but here is our December bulletin board! It's my absolute FAVORITE so far, I don't know how we can beat it! We put glitter on the Christmas lights to make it look like they were shining. The glitter on the letters was a last minute decision, but I think it looks GREAT! I'm proud of my work :)
